Smoking has long been used as a means of preserving fish and is a craft which has been passed down through generations. The perfect smoked salmon takes time, experience and the finest ingredients – all of these are available in abundance through our business.
Smoked salmon is a unique product, healthy, rich in Omega3 and delicious for a wide variety of meal occasions.
We only offer smoked salmon with true Scottish provenance, through The Seafood Company’s traditional smokehouses in Fraserburgh and Strathaird. These produce some of Scotland’s most delicious fine smoked salmon, benefiting from the long experience of our Master Smokers.
We use only the finest fresh farmed salmon, traditionally cured with natural sea salt for up to 24 hours. It is then naturally smoked in a traditional smokehouse for between 12 and 24 hours using woods such as oak and beech, allowing the product to develop its wonderful, unique character, texture and flavour. Once smoked, the salmon is left to further mature for 2 days before being hand trimmed, sliced and packed.
